Hodgkin's Disease
The Hodgkin's Disease topic includes research on the causes, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of Hodgkin's disease, a cancer of the immune system that is marked by the presence of lymphoma cancer cells called Reed-Sternberg cells.
Hodgkin lymphoma, as the disease is now known, is highly curable. The disease more commonly affects men than women. In addition to male sex, risk factors include early or late adulthood, having a prior history of Epstein-Barr infection, and/or a family history of Hodgkin lymphoma.
A rare, slow-growing type of Hodgkin lymphoma is called nodular lymphocyte-predominant Hodgkin lymphoma (NLPHL).
