Huntington's Disease

The Huntington's Disease topic includes research on the genetics, diagnosis, and treatment of Huntington's disease, a rare, inherited neurodegenerative disorder associated with progressive loss of brain and muscle function.

Symptoms usually develop during middle age and may include uncontrolled movements, loss of intellectual abilities, and various emotional and psychiatric issues. Having a parent with the disease increases risk, even if symptoms do not appear until midlife.
