Teenage Pregnancy

The Teenage Pregnancy topic includes research on pregnancy in adolescents ages 12–20. It includes research on the mental health of teenage parents, adolescent sexual risk behavior, and promotion of safe sex practices among adolescents.

Teenage pregnancies can bring extra health risks for both the mother and the baby. Teens often do not get prenatal care soon enough, which can lead to later problems. They also have a higher risk for pregnancy-related high blood pressure and its complications. Risks for the baby include premature birth and low birth weight.
