Youth Violence Prevention

The Youth Violence Prevention topic includes research on the prevention or reduction of physical and psychological violence by youth against other youths (birth to age 21), including hazing and bullying.

Violence is a leading cause of death for people 10 to 24 years old in the United States. Youth violence can cause long-term emotional and psychological harm. Research has also found that children exposed to violent or traumatic events are more likely to have poor health as adults.

Violence is the result of many different causes and conditions. Understanding and addressing these conditions may help prevent violence.
