Environmental Health

The Environmental Health Research Area includes research on environmental factors affecting human health. This area includes studies of health effects of exposures and conditions related to substances present in the environment like Agent Orange, dioxin, and lead as well as health effects of exposures and conditions related to climate change, household energy combustion, indoor air pollution, and tobacco smoke. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences funds research in this area.
